The practitioners within the North America Banking, Finance and Major Projects Practice Group represent clients in all aspects of financing transactions, from negotiation and origination, to documentation and closing, and when necessary, to enforcement of remedies or procedures and agreements for workout and reorganization. Commercial and investment banks, foreign banks, insurance companies and other financial institutions retain the group to represent them in their capacities as agent, senior lender or other syndicate member, seller or purchaser of participations, assignor or assignee of direct loan interests, debt conversion arranger, letter of credit issuer and trustee.
The North America Banking, Finance and Major Projects Practice Group members also serve corporate borrowers involved in mergers and acquisitions, divestiture of operating units, equipment and project financings, debt restructuring, and working capital and other financing transactions.
Major Projects and Project Finance
US and foreign developers, banks, other financial institutions, and governments/ governmental agencies also retain the North America Banking, Finance and Major Projects attorneys to represent them in a variety of areas relevant to major projects and project financing transactions. These areas include privatization, foreign investment, joint ventures, taxation, construction, government relations, property, industrial relations, environmental liability, litigation and arbitration. Projects on which the group has advised include the development and financing of power stations, toll roads, airports, other transportation facilities, oil and gas pipelines, mining facilities, and telecommunications infrastructure.

The group concentrates its practice in transactions that create financing structures tailored to individual project needs. Members of the group have substantial experience in foreign investment and routinely collaborate with their international colleagues to address these complexities.
