EU and Competition Law (Antitrust) 

Our Spanish competition team, located in both Madrid and Barcelona, and part of the wider Baker & McKenzie European and Global Antitrust teams. cover all aspects of EU and Spanish competition law, including:

• Defending clients in relation to competition issues, both at the Spanish and EU levels, in relation to cartels and other agreements and practices which restrict competition as well as allegations of abuse of dominant position.
• Reviewing general commercial contracts for competition issues (including among others, distribution, franchise, and technology transfer contracts).
• Notifications to the the Spanish and EU competition authorities of business concentrations (mergers).
• Advising on other cooperation and joint venture agreements.
• Carrying out internal audits to advise clients on compliance with Spanish and EU competition law.
• Representating clients before the Spanish and EU competition authorities and courts.
• Advising companies on the application, interpretation, and scope of European Union law generally in regulated sectors (such as banking, insurance, pharmaceutical industry, foods, and telecommunications).
