European & Competition Law Practice

EU & Competition

As the integration of Europe continues, in-depth knowledge of EU legislation has become virtually indispensable. Understanding and applying legislation in the field of competition law requires expert knowledge, especially as the rules are becoming stricter all the time. Our EU and Competition lawyers are at the forefront of both fields. Our clients require advice on the full range of EU law and competition law matters. Our expertise covers merger control, regulatory investigations and appeals, including cartels, antitrust and competition litigation and general advisory work. Our Practice Group also has extensive expertise in counseling clients in the procedures related to calls for tender issued by governments.

Our clients are domestic and foreign companies, including multinational groups of companies, Dutch companies and, of course, many US companies that are that are active in the European market. Baker & McKenzie has represented numerous companies in cases before the Dutch Competition Authority, the European Commission and the European Courts of Justice, and took part in for instance, drafting a new competition law for the Netherlands.
